In February 2019, I was appointed to the Governing Board of the Coventry University Group where I serve on the main Governing Board and the Academic Affairs committee. In October 2017, I was elected a Trustee of the City & Guilds Group where I serve on the main Trustee Board, the Nominations Committee and on the Audit & Risk Committee. The combination of both roles, spanning further and higher education, provides an important and comprehensive opportunity for engagement with how technical skills and research collaboration are evolving to meet the needs of our future industries.

Throughout my career, I have focused on the successful application of leading-edge technologies to achieving a step change in business growth: most recently as the Deputy CEO of Innovate UK and before that as Director of Technical Strategy at Virgin Media, where I was responsible for pioneering super-fast broadband in 2008, connected TV in 2010 and the first WiFi service on the London Underground in time for the 2012 Olympic Games.
